Scientific refferences in Mahabharata part - 5

In the previous 4 articles, we learned about the various scientific references mentioned in the Mahabharata.  *In today's last article, we are going to take a brief look at Garbhijnana* in Mahabharata.

Mokshadharma Parva Chapter 320 under *Mahabharata Shanti Parva* explains how *pregnancy* occurs in the human body.

🚩 बिन्दुन्यासादयोSवस्था: *शुक्रशोणितसम्भवाः*
यासामेव निपातेन *कललं* नाम जायते ||११७||

A component is formed in the uterus from the mixture of sperm meaning male sperm and female sperm which is called *कलल* (Cellular level).

🚩कललाद् बुद्बुदोत्पत्तिः पेशी च बुद्बुदात् स्मृता |
पेश्यास्त्वङ्गाभिनिर्वृत्तिर्नखरोमाणि चाङ्गतः ||११८ || 🚩

A *bubble* is produced from Kalal (कलल ) From that bubble further *cells and flesh* are formed.  Various organs are formed, *nails and hair* are formed.

We know that pregnancy occurs in a woman's body through the union of a man and a woman.  *With the help of modern science we can see all the stages of pregnancy.* But, etc.  S.  BC  Even more ancient than 5000 *Mahabharata ( ago years 5000 B. C) (Dwapar Yuga) describes the initial stages of pregnancy*.  Without any modern equipment, without sonography *Maharishi Vyasa has very aptly described the primary stage of pregnancy i.e. Kalal (कलल) - Bubble - Flesh, Cells - Organ formation.  It's all amazing.*

Many sophisticated weapons were used in the Mahabharata war.  In Mahabharata *Brahmastra means atomic bomb*.  Many of the weapons used at that time are similar to modern weapons.

We find the knowledge that Arjuna's son *Abhimanyu acquired in his mother's womb i.e. garbhasamskara* and the *advanced stage of the baby's brain* in the womb described.

The book Mahabharata is not just *poetic imagination but actual history*.  Its evidences are coming up from time to time.  Mahabharata is not only *Kaurava-Pandava war and Srimad Bhagavadgita* but many *modern scientific references and its follow-up* we find in Mahabharata.  The book Mahabharata covers many subjects like *Astronomy, Biology, Health Science, Geography, Architecture, Martial Arts, Sociology and Psychology*.  There is no subject in the world which is not in the Mahabharata, therefore it's said that व्यासोच्छिष्टं जगत्सर्वम्*That means all the knowledge of the world has been attained by Vyasa.  This means that Vyasa has touched all the subjects of the world.

*A very beautiful philosophy using the metaphor of moon and earth* is told by Vyasa in Mahabharata.  Now let's know more about this.
Vedavyas wrote in Mahabharata that the spots on the surface of the moon are the map of the entire earth.

🚩 यथा हि पुरुषः पश्येदादर्शे मुखमात्मानः |
एवं सुदर्शनद्वीपो दृश्यते चन्द्रमण्डले ||१६ || 🚩

Just as a man looks at his face in a mirror, i.e. sees a reflection, *Sudarshan Dwipa (The Earth ) is seen on the moon* (its reflection is seen on the moon) i.e. a *reflection* of the land on earth is seen.
Let's see the next verse about it

🚩द्विरंशे पिप्पलस्तत्र द्विरंशे च शशो महान् |
सर्वौषधिसमावायः सर्वतः परिवारितः ||१७ ||🚩

Pimpal (pimpal leaves) is seen in *two degrees and rabbit* in two degrees.  There are herbs on all sides of it.

Let's see the interpretation of this.  We know that the spot that appears on the surface of the moon looks like the shape of a rabbit.  As if imagining that there is a rabbit on the moon's lap, the moon is called *Shashanka*  (anka means lap) Now the picture of this rabbit is the map of the whole earth.  If you look at the unified map of the entire earth on Google, it looks like a rabbit and a lotus leaf.  I have sent pictures along with this article.

*Bhishma Parva Jambukhandvinirmanparva chapter no.  5*

🚩 (स वै सुदर्शनद्वीपो दृश्यते शशवद् द्विधा )
यां तु पृच्छसि मां राजन् दिव्यामेतां शशाकृतिम्
पार्श्वे शशस्य द्वे वर्षे उक्ते ये दक्षिणोत्तरे
कर्णौ तु नागद्वीपश्च काश्यपद्वीप एव च 🚩

This is how I described Sudarshan Dwipa (The Earth ). That island is the image of the earth divided into two parts and we see it in the form of spots (rabbit shape) on the moon.  *The two islands named (Bharat and Airavat) located in the south and north direction are both the flanks of that rabbit.  Nagadvipa and Kasyapadvipa are the two ears of that rabbit.*

🚩आपस्ततोSन्या विज्ञेयाः शेषः संक्षेप उच्यते ||१८ ||🚩

Apart from this land, the rest of the land should be considered as water.  There is also a clear description.  Maharishi Vyasa had the exact knowledge of all the continents of the earth, their extent and the rest of the water.  *Describing all the continents like North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and their sizes, how would Ved Vyas have described them?*

In order to describe the shape of all these continents, they have to be seen from above i.e. from the sky or space.  Nowadays, with the help of satellites in space, we can create accurate maps.  2 In order to know the entire geographical situation of the earth, it is necessary to *circulate the earth*.  That means Vedavyas must have circumnavigated the earth.  *To get an idea of ​​the size of the continents, you have to go up and see them.* This means *Vedavyas must have gone to the sky or space by sitting in a plane-like machine* because during the Mahabharata period (5000 years B. C. ) Airplanes EXISTED. If this is not acceptable, then we have to accept how much Indian yoga science was advanced that *Ved Vyas having obtained all the information through yoga force in microscopic form.*  If asked such a question, *Ved Vyas should proudly say that he has given detailed information about this map in his book Mahabharata*.

🌺 *पाण्यातील वायू आणि वेद* 🌺

पाण्यातील ऑक्सिजन -  अग्नी आणि हायड्रोजन -  सोम ह्याचे वेदांतील वर्णन आपण पाहू.

*अथर्ववेद* कांड ३, सूक्त १३, मंत्र ५ खालील प्रमाणे आहे.

🚩आपो भद्रा घृतमिदाप *आसन्नग्नीषोमौ* बिभ्रत्याप इत्ताः |
तीव्र रसो मधुपृचामरंगम आ मा प्राणेन सह वर्चसा गमेत् ||५||🚩

जल हे कल्याण करणारे आणि तेज वाढविणारे आहे. *हे जल अग्नी आणि सोम धारण करतात.* पूर्ण तृप्ती देणारा हा मधुर रस जीवन आणि तेजाबरोबर मला प्राप्त होवो.

पाण्यामध्ये असे काही घटक आहेत त्यामुळे आपले तेज वाढते. *शुद्ध पाणी हे ऑक्सिजन आणि हायड्रोजन* याच दोन घटकांनी तयार होते असे आधुनिक विज्ञान सांगते. वरील मंत्रात पाण्यात अग्नी आणि सोम आहेत असे स्पष्टपणे नमूद केले आहे. म्हणजेच *ऑक्सिजन -  अग्नी आणि हायड्रोजन -  सोम ह्या पाण्यात आहेत असे स्पष्ट होते.*

*ऋग्वेद* मंडल १, सूक्त २३, मंत्र २० खालील प्रमाणे आहे.

🚩अप्सु मे *सोमो* अब्रवीदन्तर्विश्वानि भेषजा
*अग्निं* च विश्वशम्भुवमापश्च विश्वभेषजीः ||२० ||🚩

जलात सर्व प्रकारची औषधे आहेत आणि *सर्वांना सुख देणारा अग्नी आणि सोम सुद्धा आहेत.*
आत्ताची water theory सुद्धा हेच सांगते

ब्रह्मांड पुराण २४/६ मत्स्य पुराण १२८/५-६ वायू पुराण ५३/५ मध्ये पाण्यामध्ये अग्नी आहे ह्याचे वर्णन केले आहे.

  🚩वैद्यतो जाठर सौरो ह्यपागर्भास्त्रयो$ग्नयः |
तस्मादप पिबन् सूर्यो गोभिर्दीप्यत्यसौ दिवि ||🚩

जलाच्या गर्भात (अपागर्भ ) *तीन प्रकारचा अग्नी* असतो.
विद्युत म्हणजेच त्या *अग्निपासून विद्युत निर्मिती* करता येते, पाणी हा विजेचा सुवाहक आहे.
जाठर म्हणजे पाण्याच्या जठरात, *गर्भात असा अग्नी आहे की जो भडकलेल्या अग्नीला शांत करतो.*  हिर्‍याने हिरा कापतात त्याप्रमाणे पाण्यात असलेल्या जाठर नावच्या अग्नीमुळे भडकलेला अग्नी शांत होतो. त्यामुळेच आग शांत करण्यासाठी पाणी फवारण्यात येते. पाण्याच्या गर्भात म्हणजे समुद्राच्या तळाशी सुद्धा अग्नी असतो त्याला *वडवानल* असेही म्हणतात

*अथर्ववेद*  कांड १० सूक्त ८ मंत्र ४०

🚩 *अप्स्वा$सीन्मातरिश्वा* प्रविष्ट: प्रविष्टा देवा : सलिलान्यासन् |🚩

वायू (मातरिश्व ) जळात प्रविष्ट आहे. सर्व देव जळात प्रविष्ट आहेत. आता पाण्यात कोणते वायू असतात? ऑक्सिजन आणि हायड्रोजन येथे *मातरिश्वा म्हणजे ऑक्सिजन* होय.

ऋग्वेद मंडल ७ सूक्त ४९ मंत्र ४ खालीलप्रमाणे आहे.

🚩 यासु राजा वरुणो यासु सोमो विश्वे देवा यासूर्जं मदन्ति |
वैश्वानरो यास्वग्निः प्रविष्टस्ता आपो देवीरिह मामवन्तु ||४||🚩

*वरुण*  पाण्यात राहतो. *सोम* पाण्यात राहतो. विश्व संचालक *अग्नी पाण्यात राहतो. हे दिव्य जल! आमचे रक्षण करा.*

ऋग्वेद, अथर्ववेद, पुराणे ह्यात अगदी ठासून सांगितले आहे की *पाण्यात वरुण, सोम आहेत म्हणजेच आत्ताच्या भाषेत पाणी ऑक्सिजन आणि हायड्रोजन ह्यांच्या संयोगाने तयार झाले आहे.* वेदकाळात पाण्यातील घटकांना वेगळी नावे होती आत्ताच्या विज्ञानात त्याला वेगळी नावे आहेत इतकेच. आपल्या पुरातन वैदिक वाङ्मयात अगदी स्पष्ट पुरावा दिला आहे.

आपल्याला शाळांतून शिकविण्यात आले आहे की पाण्यात ऑक्सिजन आणि हायड्रोजन गॅस असतो ह्याचा शोध Henry Cavendish (1731 - 1810 ) ह्या शास्त्रज्ञांनी लावला. वेद, पुराणे ह्यांना कोणतेही स्थान देण्यात आले नाही ह्याचे कारण मेकॉलेप्रणीत शिक्षण पद्धती. अजूनही आपण गुलामगिरीच्या मानसिकतेत जगतो आहोत हे दुर्दैव आहे. आपण विज्ञाननिष्ठ राहून वेद, उपनिषदे, पुराणे ह्यांचा अभ्यास करायला हवा आणि आपली उज्ज्वल भारतीय परंपरा, त्यातील ज्ञान जगासमोर आणायला हवे.

थोडक्यात सांगायचे झाले तर आपल्या *वैदिक संस्कृतीत अनेक ज्ञानभांडारे होती. परंतु, मेकॉलेप्रणीत शिक्षणपद्धतीने ही सर्व माहिती कालबाह्य ठरविली आणि भारतीयांवर मागासलेपणाचा शिक्का मारला.*  इंग्रजी शिक्षणाचा उदो उदो करताना आपण आपली मूळ संस्कृती, तिच्यातील वैज्ञानिक संदर्भ, इतिहास आणि आपली सर्वभाषाजननी संस्कृत भाषा हे सर्व काही विसरत चाललो आहोत हीच आपली शोकांतिका आहे. तूर्तास इथेच थांबतो. *पुढील लेखांत अजून वैज्ञानिक संदर्भ पाहू.*

*Scientific refferences in Mahabharata - Part - 3*

Let's learn more about the size of the Earth
In Mahabharata Bhishma Parva *Jambukhand Vinirman Parva* Sudarshan Dwipa, means *Earth is described*.

Sanjay tells Dhritarashtra -

🚩 सुदर्शनं प्रवक्ष्यामि द्वीपं तु कुरुनन्दन |
*परिमण्डलो* महाराज द्वीपोSसौ चक्रसंस्थितः ||१३ || 🚩

O Kurunandan (hey Dhritarashtra ) !  I describe the island called *Sudarshan i.e. Earth.*  hey king! The *Earth is round like a wheel (परिमण्डलः)*.

Veda Vyas, author of Mahabharata, has written the above dialogue between Sanjay and Dhritarashtra.  Here it says *Earth is round*.  Now to make such a precise statement that the earth is round requires full knowledge and it *was all known to Sanjay.* Google tells us that the earth was round *first known to the Greek philosophers around 500 BC*. But, in our book Mahabharata, not only this information, but also a full description of all the continents on earth is given. Mahabharata had been written approximately   5000 years ago BC. Hence, the Mahabharata and Vedavyas, Sanjay should get the credit for presenting the theory that the earth is round.  In my article series *Geographical and Scientific References in Ramayana*, I wrote that all the references to the fact that the earth is round are given in Valmiki Ramayana, Kishkindha Kanda and *Vanararaja Sugriva has presented the theory that the earth is round*.  Our *Vedas are the oldest written literature* in the world.  It also states that the earth is round. In these articles, have mentioned that the *earth is round* Mention of Earth's Rotation and Rotation in Vedas*.  In short, while the ancient texts like Vedas, Ramayana, Mahabharata etc. clearly mention that the earth is round, the credit of this theory was given to foreign scientists.  Even after 75 years of our independence, we are still *in a slavery mentality*.  We do not bring forward *many scientific references* in our own books, we do not study all these books from a scientific point of view. Our *Sanatana Dharma is based on science and we find many scientific references while studying our scriptures and we are surprised*.  But, without studying it, we are happy to praise the *foreign scientists*.  Only if all this information is *included in the text book, the new generation will understand* and more research can be done on it.  *Government follow-up* is necessary for this.  Presently we should give all this information to our children and students and encourage them to read books like *Ramayana, Mahabharata with a scientific approach*.

Mahabharata gives very good information about *moon-earth and spots* on moon.  It is as follows

🚩 पश्यन्नपि यदा *लक्ष्म जगत् सोमे* न विन्दति
एवमस्ति न चोत्पन्नं न च तन्न परायणम् ||८|| 🚩

The *spot on the moon is a mark of the earth,*  but it is only a mark of the earth.  Not the actual earth.
Thus everyone has the knowledge of Atman (Soul) in the form of *I am* but not the real knowledge of the whole Atman.

The spots we see on the *moon are the map of the entire earth on the moon.* The spots on the moon are only a map of the earth but not the actual earth.  This means that everyone has a very little knowledge of self, that is, of the soul, from which one can imagine the soul.  But, it is very difficult to know the whole soul.  *A very beautiful philosophy using the metaphor of moon and earth* is told by Vyasa in Mahabharata.  Now how is the spot on the moon a map of the earth?  We will take interesting information about this in the next article.

🌺 *Eclipse and Micro Organisms* 🌺

🚩 यथा *चन्द्रार्कसंयुक्तं* तमस्तदुपलभ्यते |
तद्वच्छरीरसंयुक्तः शरीरीत्युपलभ्यते ||२१||🚩

Just as during a solar eclipse ( *चन्द्रार्कसंयुक्तं* ) the shadow of the moon falls on the earth so the sun appears obscured.  Similarly, the soul pervades the entire body.

*Solar eclipse is very clearly mentioned in this.* It is not left out just by mentioning that it happens.  An explanation is also given that eclipses are caused by the play of shadows of Sun-Moon-Earth.  Western scientists such as Herodotus have been credited with observing solar eclipses.  Their time is back as far as 500 BC years.  But Mahabharata whose time is approx.  more than 5000 years BC and its name does not appear anywhere.  The Ramayana which took place before the Mahabharata, (Treta Yuga) which dates to approximately more than 12000 BC years also mentions solar eclipses.  So even now it is necessary to come out of the mentality of slavery and present the real truth to the world.

🚩यथा *हिमवतः पार्श्वे पृष्ठं चन्द्रमसो* तथा |
न दृष्टपूर्वं मनुजैर्न च तन्नास्ति तावता ||🚩

*Man does not see the other side of the Himalayas and the other surface of the moon, but this does not mean that the Himalayas do not have a side and the moon does not have a surface.* Thus the soul exists even though it is not visible to the eyes.

Since the time taken by the Moon to revolve around itself is the same as the time it takes to revolve around the Earth, one side of the Moon is always facing the Earth.  *Modern science states that only 59% of the Moon is visible from Earth* (the Earth-facing portion) due to certain viewing angles from Earth.  The other part (Non Earth-facing) cannot be seen from Earth.  Now see that *the same principle stated by modern science is stated by Maharishi Vyasa in Mahabharata.* He did not say only what % of the part is visible from earth.  *We should bow down at the feet of the Vedavyas Rishis who wrote such accurate information related to modern science.*

*Microorganisms* are mentioned in Mahabharata Shanti Parva chapter 15 verse 26.

🚩 *सूक्ष्मयोनीनि* भूतानि तर्कगम्यानि कानिचित् |
पक्ष्मणोSपि निपातेन येषां स्यात् स्कन्धपर्ययः ||२६ || 🚩

Let us see the meaning of the above verse.

There are *many microbes* that can be known by guesswork.  *The microorganisms are destroyed and re-created only when the human eyelids are not rubbed.*

Microorganisms are organisms that cannot be seen by the naked eye.  They can only and only be studied *with a microscope*.  Modern science says that their *life span is very short i.e. only a few moments or minutes*.  The life of the *corona virus* that the whole world has experienced recently is only a few seconds.  That is, Maharshi Vyas has discussed the life span of microorganisms in Mahabharata.  This study can be done with the help of modern equipment.  The Mahabharata has given the same information that today's science has given about microcosms.  How could Vyasa Maharshi have described so accurately if we consider that there was no microscope at that time?  *There is information about how binoculars are made in this book Shilpbhrigusamhita.* If there was information about how binoculars were made at that time, it seems that there should be information about the microscope.  *Vyasa has also touched on the subject like micro-organisms* that is why it is called *Vyasochishtha Jagatsarvam ( व्यासोच्छिष्टं जगत्सर्वम् )* It means Sage Vyasa has touched all subject in the human life and in the world.

In short, our *Vedic culture had many repositories of knowledge.  But the Macaulay style of education made all this information obsolete and stamped Indians as backward.* Our tragedy is that we are forgetting our original culture, its scientific context, history and our universal Sanskrit language while promoting English education.  *We will see more scientific references in the next article.*
